The second part of my Courtesans in Rome tour takes us to Villa Farnesina in the district of Trastevere. Inside are an array of allegorical artworks, including masterpieces by Raphael, which narrate the story of these powerful women.
I’ll bring you face-to-face with these masterpieces, providing the context you need to understand how these women operated within their society, and how they exercised what power they had to survive, and even dominate.
